In the past most people learned to drive in a manual car this meant they coud drive both manual and automatic cars.
Manual lessons are still more popular than automatics at the moment but when we get to 2030 all new cars will be electric and they are only available with automatic gearboxes.
Britain is finaly catching up with the rest of the world and automatic cars are becoming more and more popular all the time.
Most new cars sold now tend to be automatic.
All electric and hybrid cars are ONLY avcailable with automatic gearboxes and remember that from 2030 you will not be able to buy a new petrol or diesel car so all cars from that date will be automatic.
